19 months!

Ethan is growing like crazy! At his 18month visit, he was 28lbs and 30.25 inches! He is talking lots and doing funny things. He likes to pretend alot. We bought him a pink doll stroller that he puts his "babies" in! No traditional gender rolls here! Though he LOVES balls, and cars! Lately his favorite is legos.

I have had an unfortunate turn, and started medication for Diabetes and High blood pressure. Stephen is treating me for the blood pressure, and i'm on a pretty strict diabetic diet to lose weight and see if I can control my blood sugar with diet. It's a bummer.

Also, Ethan has been having a rough go of sickness lately. He has been sick 4 times in 8 weeks. This most recent time landed us at Urgent Care for respiratory distress. No fun. We are doing breathing treatments. I also took him to The Salt Room for some salt therapy. I think it helped, bc he stopped wheezing, and took a 3hr nap after!

Zoo fun!
We were invited to a birthday party at the Brevard Zoo! We had such a great time! Especially getting to feed the giraffe!

After the Zoo we went to the beach with Ethan for the first time. I was worried he wouldn't like it, but he really had a great time!! We have no pictures, because we left our phones in the car....next time though!

There is something about having a little boy. He is the most amazing, adorable little guy, but I worry that someday he'll leave me....yet that's what you want for your children, to leave the nest and be successful...

We have been having lots of fun lately! Ethan is signing like crazy, and even saying some words. Water, shoes, juice, cheese, please...of course, in baby words...wawa, juz, chees, etc....so cute!

We had lots of fun this week! We have been doing Safe Start swimming lessons for the past 2 weeks, and i'm very proud of him!

He is getting better at floating, and can swim to the wall and hold himself up! He's getting better everyday! I am exhausted for bringing him there, changing him, watching for 10 mins, changing him into dry clothes, getting him to the car, etc!

Ethan has started eating scrambled eggs, and has eaten cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew, pineapple, and peaches!! I hope he keeps it up!

Wow, it's been almost a complete year!

Not going to even try to explain, but well, time gets away from you. It's a new year...Ethan is 15 months old!! I am going to try to use this as a way for me to document things for him. I find I can hardly remember a few months ago...no way i'm going to remember the small things years from now when he wants to hear stories!

This weekend Friday-Monday, Stephen took off, so we are having a Staycation. Friday we went to Busch Gardens. We had so much fun, we can't wait to go back! Ethan had fun looking at the animals, and on the rides at the Sesame Safari kids area. There were splash pads galore! One story is that while Ethan was playing in the sand pit, he saw this big, yellow, bouncy floor thing. I knew he was too little, but he climbed out of the sand pit, and fell over a barrier trying to get to it. I picked him up, and he was kicking and yelling and trying to get to the bouncy floor. I waited with him in line, and we got on it. He was on it for 20 seconds before some big kid jumped and he fell down, and cried. I grabbed him out, but boy, i'm proud of my brave little boy! He usually just goes for it, plays well, and loves to climb and play. Here are some pictures!

Pool Time!

Ethan and I are lucky enough to be part of a mom's group that is wonderful. Last Thursday we went to Ethan's first pool party.
The morning started off badly, because I COULD NOT find one of the 3 bathing suits I know he has....frustrating. Then I went to Publix to buy a swim diaper, and they don't sell them! UGH! Thankfully, I called one of the mom's and she loaned me a swim diaper.

Ethan seemed to like the pool. It was really warm, and i'm paranoid about the sun, so we had an umbrella right over the area of the pool we stayed in. Plus he had a hat, plus I put some sunscreen on him. It was right before naptime that everyone decided to go in the pool, so I wasn't sure he'd be ok, but he was!!

Please excuse how terrible I look! Isn't he a cutie!??!?!

Going back to work....

For a visit!

Today was teacher appreciation day at my school. The parents were giving a luncheon, and I wanted to come visit so they could see Ethan! We had a great time! Everyone said he is "juicy". I guess it's because he is so chunky! He was 10.4lbs at birth, and was 16lbs at his 2 month appointment. I was worried he gained too much, but the Dr's say he's just fine!

It was really nice visiting with my work friends, and for my students parents to meet him. I brought cookies for my students, and we spent some time in the class together. I can't believe it was only 3 months ago that I was working, and teaching!

The transition to Stay-at-home mom was pretty easy, but i'm still trying to get into a routine. It isn't all mom's playgroups and spa days :) This week I was able to sweep and mop the floors, and clean the bathrooms. I also meal planned for the week, but have only made one of those meals yet.... I need to get into a better routine of cleaning/planning...it'll come!

Last night Etan slept from 10:30pm till 3:30am, I went in and he wasn't awake, but was fussing. I just patted him, and went to the den to wait for him to wail, and the next thing I knew was 5:15am! So he slept almost 7hrs straight....lets hope it continues!
Here is a picture from the first time I brought Ethan to work to visit, he was 6weeks. This time I didn't take any pics :(

First blog!

Hi all!

This is my first blog post! I have pretty much no idea who to use this, and i'll try to get a second to learn. Having Ethan around takes up most of my time, and since i'm carrying him alot, most of my hands. I have learned to text with one hand, but typing is still a problem.
Anyway, I wanted to start this blog, because I am terrible at writing things down by hand, but I don't mind typing them. I want to record the things I do with Ethan and my family, and this seem to be the best way to do that.

I have never understood how to "follow" other's blogs. Is there a way that you can follow them, and when they update it shows up on a newsfeed?  Help!

I leave you with a family picture....
